An app which allows you to see all public transportation near you. With this app you can automatically know upcoming departure times for all nearby lines. It also lets you plan your trip, set reminders, and get notifications about disruptions. Just in case there isn’t any public transportation near you, Transit app lets you request an Uber driver, reserve a Car2Go, or check to find the nearest bike share.
Transit App was created in 2012, and since its inception it has improved more than 1.8 billion journeys. In 2013 the app became one hundred percent free. In the first seventy two hours after it became free, it was downloaded by 35,000 users. Also in 2013 Transit app launched in Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Rennes, and Nantes. In late 2014 Uber joined Transit App in order to help users get to where they needed to go if public transportation was not on time. In the three years since it was created, Transit App has become one of the most popular public transportation applications on the market.

Accurate Travel Time: The travel time that Transit App displays is very accurate. With the app you can launch a bus’s time schedule and launch a map to see where your bus or train is at. The map not only accurately shows your location, but it also shows icons of your transportation as it approaches.
Integrated Trip Planner: If you need to know how to get from one place to another, then the Transit App has got you covered. Just enter your current location and your destination and the app will tell you the best public Transit to get you where you need to go.
Uber Integration: If there is a delay with your public transportation, you can see what Uber cars are near you. If you want a ride you can click to schedule a driver which will make you log into the Uber website. If you have the Uber app on your phone already, then the Transit App will alert the Uber driver of your location.
Cons
No Delay Information: The Transit App will let you know about delays with your transportation, but it does not give you any information why there is a delay.
Limited Locations Supported at Launch: Online access for the 3 closest routes is free. Routes farther away than that require a subscription. Offline support is also unavailable with the free version.
No Location Sharing: Other apps offers you the option of sharing your location in order to meet up with a friend. It works like this: you select to meet your friend somewhere, pick a location on a map, and then share the information by email, or other forms of communication. Transit App has no such feature.
